He was associated with India Cements, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, L&T ECC and the MDO operations across various Iron Ore Mines in Odisha. He will be transitioning to Lloyds as head of Mining.

Dr. Satish R. Wate, a resident of Nagpur, 67 years old, is a Masters and Doctorate in Biochemistry from Nagpur University. Dr. Wate joined as a scientist and rose to the position of Director in August 2010 at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. He was also assigned an additional charge of Director Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai in March 2015. He started many innovative programs at NEERI and at CLRI during his tenure yielding spectacular results on R&D and technology platforms and providing visibility to the Institutes on the Societal front.

Dr. Wate has several years of experience in Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment, Water Resource Management, Environmental Systems Design, Modeling, and Optimization, Carrying Capacity Based Developmental Planning, Environmental Biotechnology, Wastewater Treatment, and Environmental Materials for Field Applications.

His major scientific contributions are in the areas of Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment, Wastewater Treatment, and Environmental Biotechnology. He has successfully handled a large number of projects with national and international agencies/organizations like the World Bank, UNDP, UNEP, WHO, UNICEF, and Asian Countries viz. UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and the Philippines. Dr. Wate has been nominated on various National Advisory Committees of Ministries viz. DST; MOEF&CC; MWR, RD and Ganga Rejuvenation; MDWS, etc. either as Chairman or Member. He has signed MOUs with many international and national academic and R&D institutions for bilateral co-operation.

Mr. Subbarao Venkata Munnang is 61 years old and residing at Bangalore. He has done his B.Tech (Metallurgy) from NIT Warangal, DIM (Management) from IGNOU, PG Diploma (Marketing) from Annamalai University, and MBA (Marketing) from JRNRV University.

He was the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of KIOCL Limited, (Schedule A listed PSU Company under Ministry of Steel, Government of India) Bangalore and retired on 30th June 2021. He has also been associated with NMDC Limited, and JSPL Limited, as an advisor for global procurement of bulk minerals, mining, palletization, arbitration, recruitment, etc.

He has attended as a speaker at various National and International Seminars and published Technical Papers on Iron & Steel in several Indian Journals. He has received the Best CEO award from the world HRD Congress, the Udyog Rattan Award from the Institute of Economic Studies, Distinguished Alumni Award from NIT, Warangal. Best CMD Corporate Management Innovative Excellence Award from GEOMINETECH, outstanding contribution to the Indian Public Sector Industry from Indian Chamber of Commerce.

He also played a key role in increasing % of sponge iron (HBI, DRI) in charge mix in EAF, IF, and COREX at the initial stages of the establishment of the DRI Industry in India.

He turned KIOCL Limited a turnaround of a loss-making company into profit making and continuous dividend-paying company. He also entered into the mineral exploration portal and handled 14 iron ore, and limestone blocks. He also developed a domestic market for foundry-grade pig iron, and iron ore pellets and also expanded the export market for pellets to the Middle East, North America, Europe, etc. During his tenure at KIOCL Limited Mr. Subbarao Venkata Munnang got approved and established green field solar power plants, a coke oven, modernization of a Pellet Plant, implementation of ERP/SAP, O&M contract with NMDC Limited pellet plant, chrome ore beneficiation plant of OMC and the Company has received several times awards for outstanding performance from the Government of India.

Currently, he is working as Residential Advisor with Welspun Group.

Mr. Mahendra Singh Mehta, a resident of Mumbai, 67 years old, is a BE Mech and MBA from IIMA. Mr Mehta is an industry stalwart with over 40 years rich experience in leading organisations. His experience covers wide ranging industries such as non-ferrous metals, mining, steel, power generation and distribution, cement, infrastructure, etc.

Mr. Mehta has been a part of Vedanta’s growth journey which include large acquisitions like Balco, Hindustan Zinc, Sesa Goa, KCM- Zambia, Anglo’s Zinc assets in Namibia, Ireland and South Africa and Cairn India. In Vedanta Group he held different strategic roles including Head of Copper Business, Group level Commercial Director, CEO and WTD of HZL and retiring as the Group CEO Vedanta PLC. He was on the boards of Vedanta PLC and Vedanta Limited. Mr. Mehta also had a stint as CEO of Reliance Infrastructure comprising of Delhi and Mumbai Power Discoms, Metro rail, toll road business, EPC, cement, power transmission. He was instrumental in bringing about significant improvement in the working of Delhi Discom business (BSES) in 2014-15 and 2015-16. After a long spell of stagnation and loss making, he turned around BSES discom into an efficient power distribution company at the back of significant reduction in AT&C losses and optimisation of power purchase cost.

Mr. Mehta has led the team from the front, focussing on change management and integration, process improvement assignments across functions, brown field growth projects, continuous improvement projects to attain global cost and operating efficiencies, introduction of effective performance management systems, investor relations, training and mentoring etc.
