Ghugus Plant
Lloyds Metal & Energy Ltd is the oldest DRI manufacturing unit in central India. 1995 Lloyds Metal and Energy Limited (LMEL) had setup its manufacturing facility near coal rich area near Ghugus, at Chandrapur District of Maharashtra. Spread over 280 acres of MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial development Corporation) land this manufacturing unit started with one of the biggest DRI Kiln having capacity of 500 tpd. And subsequently added with 4 more Kilns of 100 tpd.
Facility also has a power generation facility having a 30 MW power plant supported by 4X12 tph & 1X58 tph waste heat recovery boilers and also with a 90 tph AFBC boiler.
This unit also has its own water storage unit and power substation
Today LMEL is one of largest producer of DRI (sponge Iron) in central India in most energy efficient manner.
Konsari Plant
Lloyds has been allocated approximately 124 acres of land.
Lloyds has immediately started two modules of 95 tpd Sponge iron plant along with 4 MW waste heat recovery power plant.
Lloyds is working on 8 mtpa capacity underground Iron ore slurry pipeline from Surjagad Mines to Konsari Steel plant using state of art, environment friendly technology from Ausaco USA.
Slurry will be generated in a Beneficiation plant on a land located at downhill of mines outside the mi es lease hold land.
The slurry will be dewatered to produce Beneficiated Iron ore filter cake. This filter-cake will be used as raw material for two modules of Pellet Plants of 2.5 mtpa capacity each.
These pellets will become feed of two modules of Sponge iron plants if 600tpd sponge iron along with waste heat recovery power plants. These pellets will also be feed material for ISP blast furnace.
Upcoming Projects (Konsari)
Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited is setting up a mineral based Steel plant at Konsari, Gadchiroli district for manufacturing of DRI.
